G4S Security Systems field engineers receive new orders on their PDA

Group 4 Securicor (G4S) is a supplier of security and safety services and offers a wide variety of services. Navara delivers its Mobile Solution to the G4S Security Systems division. G4S uses Navara to send new orders to the engineers in the field who provide service to security installations.

The Back-Office is Syntess Software who uses Navara as their mobile extension. The work order is generated in Syntess, planned in the Syntess Planning tool and send to the PDA of the engineer via GPRS. The PDA runs the Navara Mobile solution. The engineer can see the order and accept or decline the order. A status will be send to the Syntess Planning Tool.

Status messages that the engineer can send to the planning tool are; “driving”, “working” “lunch break” and “finished order”. The order informs the engineer of the issue and who the contact person is. After the job he can record materials he has used on this job and add remarks. The Navara application automatically registered the hours worked, hours for lunch and hours for travel.

All this information is send back to the Syntess Backoffice allowing for updating and restocking of inventory and invoicing customer.
