Large HVAC-company mobilizes workforce

Bonarius is a large installation and service company. Their main business is installing and servicing Central Heating systems.

In the past when the work order was made in the ERP system, it was printed and put on a planning board. The engineer picked up the work orders for the day when he came in the office in the morning.

The engineer visited the customer and filled in the work order after he finished his work. He wrote down what materials he used, how many hours he worked etc. At the end of the day (or the next morning) he delivered the work orders to the administration department. There each order was processed in the ERP system.

Today, the 40 engineers have PDA’s on which they receive the work orders. The advantages are multiple:

  • They do not have to go to the office to pick up the work orders which saves a lot of time
  • Hours worked and materials used are send digitally to the ERP system immediately after the engineer has finished the job
  • When navigation software is installed on the PDA, Navara can start-up this software and fill in the address. Navigation saves a lot of travel time
  • Automatic handling of the work order in the ERP system saves time and resources.
  • Because of the automatic handling, the invoice can be made and parts can be ordered.
  • Less expensive communication by phone because all information is digital (no ugly handwriting) so there are less questions from the admin for the engineer.

Bonarius can now do more work orders with the same number of engineers. They can provide a higher lever of service to their customers and save on the administrative costs.
